Whale Whatching

Trip Info:
Trips depart from the Hermanus New Harbour.  The boat “SANGOMA” is registered to take 42 passengers and 2 crew.

Passengers are asked to pitch up at least 20 minutes before departure time to get ready for departure and a 10minute pre-talk on cetacean behaviour. The passengers might see three types of whales: Southern Rights, Humpbacks and Bryde’s whales
 
The duration is 2hours and snacks, mineral water, and soft drinks are served free of charge.  No smoking and drinking is allowed during trips.

The first southern Right Whales start arriving from 15 April.  The whale cruises are in full operation from 1 June.  We do close encounter Whale Trips from June till December and Marine eco-trips from January to May were you can interact with dolphins, seals, African penguins, Cape gannets, cormorants and the resident whale. (Bryde’s whale).  We are allowed as permit holder of Sub-Area 3 to approach whales and dolphins up to 50meters.
