Come and explore the magic of our unique coastline & Walker Bay Whale sanctuary up close & personal in one of our stable kayaks in the company of an experienced guide. Glide across sparkling water while marveling at the majestic sea cliffs and sea life.
After a thorough briefing on kayaking techniques & safety we paddle from the historical old harbour and do a round trip, the direction dependant on winds, swells and paddling abilities. A knowledgeable guide shall open the wonders of our ocean to you, as you explore nature up close.
Our guides are qualified in boat based whale watching, first aid and hold theta qualifications but more importantly they love this job and hold great knowledge of the ocean.
From June to December the area becomes a Whale sanctuary and Walker Bay Adventures holds an exclusive permit to be able to paddle within it. To our knowledge we are the only operators in the world that encounter large quantities of whales in such a short space of time. Other sea kayaking trips worldwide need to paddle for a day or even more to encounter the gentle giants of the ocean.
Besides the Southern Right Whales (June – December) we have sightings of Brydes Whales, dolphins, seals, penguins and the occasional illusive otter. Whatever time of year this is an experience not to be missed.
