Horse Riding

Springfontein lies 5km from the village of Stanford. This historic farm offers wine tasting and an the opportunity to see the freshwater springs, prevalent in this area, that rise from under the earth.
We offer 1, 2 and 3.5 hour Outrides.  Riders of all levels of experience are welcome! Riding Hats are provided for your safety. Please wear closed shoes and long pants for these rides.

1 Hour ride: R 180.00
Ride takes place on the Farm into the fynbos vegetation and back along the river.

2 Hour ride: R 300.00
Ride goes to the back of the farm through the vineyards and into the “Downs” fynbos area. We then ride down to the lagoon edge and come back along the river. Highlights are canters and birdlife.

3.5 Hour ride: R 400.00
This is a magnificent ride into the Walker Bay Nature reserve and along the De Plaat beach then back to lagoon edge and home along the Klein river. Highlights are wonderful flora and birdlife as well as marine life and especially southern right whales between July and November. Riding involves trotting, long canters and beach gallops, if so desired, along 8km of De Plaat beach.
